Ming Dynasty Restaurant

I've been ordering from ming for years. It's always been A ok place. I recently took my Mother to have lunch here, I have to say it's much better then I remember. Even my picky kids and wife love it. That really says something. Since our favorite Chinese place closed we had a hard time finding a good place for lunch. I will be spreading the word to friends an co workers. We will be returning soon for more.

Great service and good vegan Chinese options in this comfortable but no frills eatery. They are expedient and the food is consistent. However, the bathrooms are always pretty terrible.

Incredible food, real bang for your buck with portions, fast delivery, friendly and quick service, my go to place by far. Love it. Favorites are orange chicken and pork fried rice.

Great cheap Chinese food. Take out lunch menu is really affordable. If you're dining in, would highly recommend the plum wine.

Asian food places are not known for great location and this place at first glance gives exactly that impresion. However the food is good and it's clean compared to other Asian places. One huge upside to this place is their vegan and vegetarian menu which attracts a trendy crowd. I debated whether to give 3 o 4 stars but being nice i will stick with the more positive. Better lighting might give it a less sketchy feel.

Didn't receive all my food. I asked to make sure they swore it was there. It wasn't. We live very far away from Charlottesville.

NEVER GET FOOD HERE! I ordered food online a $10 container of chicken and it was HALF EMPTY! Called the store and they said they’d get me a $2 refund... like what? Why did I pay $10 for half empty chicken? And you can only refund the $2 delivery fee? That’s crazy. And the food isn’t good enough for that. Don’t eat here, go to Taste of China about 2 miles away from this awful restaurant.

Delicious food. Excellent choices for vegetarians (although their meat dishes are excellent too). Ask for the Authentic Chinese menus.

General Tso with just the right amount of heat very reasonably priced in a clean welcoming environment parking a little tight

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Charlottesville by far. Fair prices with traditional options as well as more Americanized Asian foods for your non-ethnic friends. The yellow bridge noodle soup and eggplant chicken pot have the most authentic Chinese tastes I’ve had in all of Charlottesville.

ONE STAR BECAUSE CANNOT SELECT LOWERI’ve been a customer for probably 20+ years. Recently my delivered order came with no rice - as advertised and written in their confirmation receipt ... my request for extra pancakes/extra sauce (moo shu pork - I always get extras) missing as well. And two fortune cookies that were WET in the packages - REALLY! ?I was home in Scottsville by the time I noticed this (delivered at my mom’s) so not like I could stop back in. So I’ve emailed them twice, telling them what happened and requested a response. NOTHING ... NADA ... Apparently my patronage is not all that important so I won’t be back. If I make a mistake - I apologize. If they make a mistake - they ignore you and basically steal from you - since I paid for food I never received. Yes I am a little upset. But there are plenty of Chinese restaurants so ... time to look for better quality and service. Beware - CHECK YOUR BAGS BEFORE YOU LET THEM LEAVE. BETTER YET - GO ELSEWHERE!

My husband and I love going here. They have amazing vegetarian/vegan options much better than a lot of places we've been before. They also have great customer service.

I placed my order at 6:03. I didn't receive my food until 7:45. The little boy that delivered my food was very rude. My first time ordering food from these people, & WILL BE THE LAST!!!

Very good Mongolian beef and large portion. Maybe best fried dumplings I have ever had. Place is a little worn, but brightly lite and clean. Attentive service.

Rather typical menu with good American Chinese fare. Staff were kind and attentive.

Usually fantastic, but I ordered the Szechuan Chicken Dinner and it came with maybe half an ounce of chicken. The entire thing was just sliced carrots and onions. The least they could have done was given me some substantial vegetables that I could actually eat. Very disappointed that I spent what I did for a bowl full of onions.

If you get an order with chicken in it, let me let you in on a seemingly inconsequential observation: the chicken is cut in the strangest possible manner; lean and paltry strips of the smallest amount of meat possible to hold together. Why does that matter, you ask? The more you start to ponder these pieces of chicken, the more you begin to wonder what they actually are. They could be anything...there’s not enough there to really taste or discern what it is. Otherwise the food is pretty good though.

I took my parents here who were visiting over the weekend. It was a spur of the moment decision as we were looking for places to dine in at. It turned out to be a great experience. The food tasted excellent, the restaurant was very clean and had good lighting, staff was friendly, no obnoxious music playing in the background. Oh, and the napkins were some of the most high quality I've ever seen, not kidding. We were all very pleased, highly recommended.

Ordered the Orange Shrimp. They serve about a cup and a half or it with a small bowl of rice. Definitely hit the spot and was fufilling. I'm pescatarian, but if I wasn't, I would order a chicken dish because those have a little larger portion sizes. Food was so good even though it's definitely not the fanciest place. Also the cream cheese macaroons are a must. Order them!

We ordered delivery, and when it got here an item was missing. While ordering I was put on hold twice and it was very difficult to hear the man over the background noise. Even though I give my order multiple times, they still missed an item in my order and we had to re order. Ordered lo main and Kung Pao chicken (ordered Kung Pao based on reviews); the vegetable lo main was ok but not great The mushrooms looked and tasted like they were canned mushrooms. There were only a couple of pieces of broccoli and a few snow peas. The Kung Pao chicken was the opposite there were only a few, very large pieces of chicken. It was mostly zucchini (which I would have loved to have had in the lo main) carrots and water chestnuts. The delivery was fast and the driver was very nice (even though he seemed like he was in a hurry). The spring roll was very good and I was disappointed by the other food.

I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. Our food was cold and tasted old. For example, the General Tso‘s chicken tasted like chicken wings as if they cooked the chicken wings in the same oil. Additionally, our noodles had a twang to it I can’t quite place my finger on. I hope not to get sick.

The restaurant is bigger than it looks from the outside. Located in small strip style building. Parking is always crowded but there is hardly any customers in the restaurant. Food is always hot and freshly made. They offer some kind of chips and sweet and sour sauce complementary. Our kids like them. The staff are friendly and give prompt service.

I have ordered from here a few times before, but have always done take out. I've always been pleased with the food. Good quality that tastes really good. I usually stick with the vegetarian menu and love that their menu has a lot of variety for vegetarians. Today, I decided to stay in and order delivery. It took about 1 hour and 45 minutes to get here. Food was warm, closer to room temperature. It was obvious it had been sitting for a while. When I called to check on the delivery, the woman who answered was rude. She told me the delivery left 20 minutes prior. I asked if there were other deliveries because I don't live that far and she declined to answer. Interestingly, my food arrived in the amount of time it would have taken me (if I had personally went up there) to leave the restaurant and get to my house. The food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't as good as it usually is. Next time, if there is a next time, I"ll order take out.

BEST CHINESE IVE HAD IN CHARLOTTESVILLE! I ordered online and it came in 25 mins. I ordered the beef and broccoli dinner combo with a sprite, cheese donuts and the steamed dumplings. Everything came hot and fresh, flavors are amazing and good prices. Highly highly recommend 😄

First time ordering. Delivery came faster than expected, super hot and fresh. Food is fantastic, and really good portion for the price. Probably the best eggroll I've ever had.
